Sadly like many artistic geniuses, however, Townes did not receive the credit he deserved while living. But his legacy has only grown in retrospect and he has become in the eyes of many, one of the greatest singer/songwriters to ever live. With only an acoustic guitar and his voice, he penned and performed beautiful songs, detailing the hardships of life from a road-poet's perspective.
