These were the glory days of the alternative LA scene, and like fellow Angelos X and the Blasters, Rank & File made great new music by looking backwards and forwards at the same time, and paved the way for the alt-country movement to come. And, as the most country-ish of the bunch, they were also the most tuneful, with some real lyrical wit that would make Nashville proud!
