Andrew Gold
If you're a fan of the '70s singer-songwriter movement, West Coast division, then you've struck "Gold" indeed-here are all four of the albums singer-songwriter Andrew Gold put out for Elektra/Asylum, reissued with copious bonus tracks, photos from Gold's private archive and notes (hilarious ones, too) from the man himself! Andrew first gained notice in the band Bryndle alongside Kenny Edwards, Karla Bonoff and Wendy Waldman; he and Edwards then joined Waddy Wachtel, Mike Botts, Brock Walsh et al. in Linda Ronstadt's band, and you will hear their contributions all over these records. Great '70s SoCal rock, on CD for the first time in the U.S.!
Title: Andrew Gold
$16.88
Andrew launched his solo career with this 1975 record and had the steady, experienced hands of producer Charles Plotkin and arranger David Campbell to temper his 24-year-old precociousness. The album made the charts, and boasted Andrew's original recording of 'Endless Flight', which Leo Sayer used as the title cut of his best-selling album.
Title: What's Wrong With This Picture?
$16.88
Absolutely nothing was wrong with Andrew's picture, as this 1976 album-produced by Peter Asher at the same sessions that yielded Linda Ronstadt's 'Hasten Down the Wind' LP, and with the same band-yielded a Top 10 hit with 'Lonely Boy'! Oh, and by the way-Andrew reveals in the liner notes what is 'really' wrong with the album cover photo!
Title: All This And Heaven Too
$16.88
This was Andrew's highest-charting album, and no wonder-it has the hits 'Never Let Her Slip Away' and 'Thank You for Being a Friend', which has passed into pop culture immortality as the theme song for the TV show 'The Golden Girls'!
Title: Whirlwind
$16.88
Andrew's toughest rocking album was the only one of his solo albums for Asylum not to make the charts, but many fans count it as his best.
